Enyimba Beat Sundowns In Dead Rubber Final Group Game

Nigeria’s Enyimba dispatched South African side Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on Tuesday as they finished off their African Champions League campaign.

Enyimba who had already missed out on the chance of reaching the semi-finals see the result as restoring a certain amount of pride

South African champions Sundowns despite the loss had already done enough to finish top of Group B sealing thier place in the last four.

Egypt’s Zamalek finished as runners-up in group reduced to three sides after the disqualification of Algeria’s Entente Setif.

Enyimba took the lead through John Uche after 24 minutes, before Percy Tau equalized for the South African champions seven minutes later.

Mfon Udoh then scored either side of half-time, the second from the penalty spot, to seal the win.

That brace takes Mfon Udoh tally to nine for the tournament this season cementing his place as top scorer in the 2016 Champions League.
